Active & Fitness Game List

This is a list of active games for game consoles (North American releases).  Whether a game is “active” or not is decided by a committee of, well, me.  In general, this includes games that require input by a motion-activated controller such as the Wii remotes, PS3 Move, Xbox360 Kinect, a camera, or a foot mat or balance board.  I narrowed it down further to include games with an active/fitness theme, a workout mode, or that I just know from personal experience make you work up a sweat!  For Nintendo DS, I included games with a health and fitness theme since most are little more than electronic workout/nutrition logs.

Games are listed by console, under Wii by theme, and in the order I thought of them.  Since different games appeal to different tastes, and reviews range from outstanding to horrible, I highly suggest a) trying before buying if possible (some game stores let you do this; also look into borrowing or renting at library or DVD rental place) and b) doing a web search for reviews online (keeping in mind most “gaming” sites dislike fitness or dance games in general; Amazon is a good place for consumer reviews).
